What does APR stand for?

APR stands for Annual Percentage Rate. The whole UK financial industry uses APR, which makes it easy to compare different credit cards.

What is chip and PIN?

Your credit card will have a 'smart' chip that will hold your 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN). As the PIN will be personal to you, it will make counterfeiting almost impossible, keeping your transactions secure. When you pay for goods at locations displaying the chip and PIN logo, you won't sign a receipt; instead you'll simply key in your 4-digit PIN into a keypad. We strongly recommend that you never give your PIN to anyone else.

What is an ATM?

ATM stands for Automated Teller Machine. ATMs are cash machines that allow you to withdraw cash using your card when you enter your PIN number.
