Getting your credit card

Credit cards are a way of borrowing money so you can buy things now - and pay for it later. They can be used instead of cash and cheques and you can choose to pay off the balance in total every month, or gradually in instalments.

How do you work out if I can have a credit card?

We assess applications by using credit scoring. This helps us to set your credit limit and fulfil our obligations as a responsible lender. It also helps us to set your credit limit - the maximum amount you can spend on your card.

What can I do if my application is declined?

You can either send an e-mail through this site by selecting the 'get in touch' link or phone us on 0800 032 1371* and ask us to reconsider your application.

Can I have a second cardholder on my account?

Yes, as long as they're over 18, they are an immediate family member and primarily reside at your current address. They will share your credit limit but you'll be responsible for all their transactions. We'll only take instructions from you, the principal cardholder, but we can give out information to other users of your account. To add an additional cardholder call 08701 542 543*
