As we treat all our customers and their applications on an individual basis, the APR and the interest rates we offer are determined by the details you supply, along with an independent verification of credit and repayment history.

Credit available subject to status to UK residents aged 18 or over from Sainsbury's Bank plc.
To keep your promotional rate you must pay at least the minimum payment by the due date and stay within your credit limit.
How to apply
Applying for your new credit card takes just a few minutes.
Before you get started, please read our privacy statement.
You're eligible to apply if you:
- Have a permanent UK address
- Are over 18 years of age
- Have not been declined credit in the last month
- Do not have a history of bad credit
- Are not an existing Sainsbury's Finance Credit Card holder
You can speed up your application if you have the following at hand:
- Your bank or building society account details
- Details of any loans, credit cards or store cards in your name
- Your employer's name and address

Your online security
Your online credit card application is protected by high security, 128-bit encryption software.
Once you've completed your online application, we'll carry out a credit check. Once you're approved, we'll send you the completed application form so you can sign it, along with a copy of our terms and conditions. Protect your credit card payments with optional Creditcare
Nobody knows what could be around the corner, but with our optional Creditcare cover, you could afford to relax knowing that should the unexpected happen you may not have to worry about the outstanding balance or your monthly repayments on your Sainsburys credit card.
What does Creditcare offer you?
We could cover more than your minimum repayments each month for up to 12 months in the event:
- you are unable to work for 30 consecutive days because you have suffered an accident or sickness
- you are working and become unemployed for at least 30 days (through no fault of your own)
We could also pay off your outstanding balance up to a maximum of £15,000 in the unfortunate event that you should suffer a specified critical illness or in the event of your death or if you become a full time carer for a relative (partner, parent or child). Am I eligible for Creditcare?
To be eligible for Creditcare, you must be
- The principal cardholder
- Over 18 but under 65
- Living in the UK
- In paid work under a contract of employment and paying class 1 National Insurance contributions or self-employed and registered for class 2 National Insurance contributions
How much does Creditcare cost?
Credit Care costs 79p per £100 of your highest card balance each month*. If your highest balance on your credit card remains at £1000 each month then your premium will equate to £7.90 per month or £94.80 over 12 months. The premium will incur interest at your normal APR.
The minimum monthly premium payable is 79p but no premium is due if your outstanding balance is nil at your statement date regardless of the highest balance in that month.
Insurance Premium Tax is included in your monthly premium.
Your highest balance means the highest level of indebtedness to your lender under the agreement in each statement month.

How can I apply for Creditcare?
If you already hold a Sainsburys credit card, call us on 0845 850 0561** and an agent will add it to your account. If you do not already hold one of our cards, then all you need to do is select the Creditcare option when you apply for your Sainsburys credit card online. This cover is optional and is not a condition of applying for your credit card.

One phone call to Card Care will ensure that all your card companies are advised.
There are other benefits too, including:
