With Sainsbury's Critical Illness Cover, provided by Legal & General, you will be covered for up to 39 critical illnesses that could affect your life and work.
It could pay a cash lump sum if you die or are diagnosed with one of the 39 specified critical illnesses during the term of your policy, and are eligible to claim. This could help towards repaying the mortgage, paying for private medical treatment or simply maintaining your individual or family lifestyle.
Sainsbury's Critical Illness Cover is available to buy online or over the phone.

How it works
The length of time you choose to be insured for, is called the 'term'. For Sainsbury's Critical Illness Cover with level term insurance, you can choose between 2 and 40 years. If you choose to take it out with decreasing term insurance, the term can be between 5 and 40 years. For both options the plan must end before your 65th birthday.
For Sainsbury's level term insurance with critical illness cover, you can choose to have either guaranteed or reviewable premiums. Guaranteed premiums stay the same unless you change your cover. Reviewable premiums are reviewed every 5 years during the term of your policy. For more information about these options please read the key features document (PDF 196KB).
