Finance - 2 Vacancies


Liquidity Analyst - Permanent, Edinburgh   (Closing date 3rd November)

As Liquidity Analyst, you'll proactively identify, quantify and report on funding and liquidity risk, produce daily and monthly cash flow forecasts to support funding and liquidity planning and maintain and develop Treasury cash and liquidity forecasting models. The role holder will take day to day ownership of the liquidity stress test regime and will be responsible for review and any required reā€engineering of the bank internal liquidity stress tests together with oversight of the stress testing required for regulatory purposes.


Trainee Dealer - Permanent, Edinburgh   (Closing 24th date October)

This role is required to provide support (and training with a view to attaining a full dealer role and mandate) for all aspects of the Treasury function and, in particular, daily dealing duties (in the short term with appropriate authority and sign off). It will provide a good introduction to a Treasury function offering an excellent opportunity to obtain experience in treasury transactions and functionality (within the constraints of controls and regulation) and ongoing monitoring and reporting of the treasury portfolios.

The Sainsbury's Bank Graduate Programme (Closing date 3rd November)

Our 24 month programme offers the opportunity to join a core area of the business and develop your skills and experience through a structured learning and development.

Customer Research

The Customer Research team want to understand customers and market data and provide the support needed to develop business strategy. By understanding the type of information needed, how it can be collected and how to use it, we can develop a customer focused marketing strategy.

The Graduate programme offers an opportunity to focus on customer analytics, which is essential for successful New Product Development, market positioning, market development and competitive strategy. You'll be working with our ‘big data’ warehouse that combines retail and Bank data to give a unique insight of our customers.



In our Marketing graduate programme you'll be developing integrated campaigns to both acquire and retain Sainsbury’s shoppers as Bank customers across our product range. This is a great opportunity to understand the customer lifecycle and work within a customer focused creative team.



Our Commercial graduate programme offers a great opportunity to gain a strong foundation for a career in retail banking. During the programme you'll be working with the teams within the Banking and Insurance departments supporting the design, distribution, management and marketing of our products. The Commercial team also have responsibility for delivering sales and achieving goals through meeting the financial services needs of our customers.


Business Change

Our Business Change team's role is to drive the development and delivery of the Bank’s Change strategy and agenda.

You'll be working on projects that enable the business to meet its strategic objectives, provide functional leadership and expertise to build and enhance the Bank's change capability. You'll gain an understanding of change governance across the bank as well as being involved in change planning & prioritisation and the delivery of a portfolio of projects and programmes.



Our Risk Graduate programme will offer a breadth of exposure across all of our non financial risk disciplines including Operational Risk, Fraud, Business Continuity and Legal & Compliance.

You'll develop a broad understanding of the retail banking environment and focus on delivering good customer outcomes whilst understanding how to protect our customers, reputation and business from unexpected risk exposures.

Payments - 5 Vacancies

We are growing our Payments team to support the growth of our business and have a number of exciting opportunities available:


Payments Infrastructure Manager 

Within this role you'll be a key contributor in setting up Sainsbury’s Bank Payment business, to enable the Bank to replace the payment services already in place. 

 You'll be a technical specialist in relation to payment systems, supporting the design and implementation of payment functionality. Following implementation, you'll continue as the bank's technical specialist, forming a key part of the Payments centre of excellence


Payments Analyst 

Within this role, you'll be responsible for payment related reconciliation, Investigation and Repair, Scheme related reconciliation and settlement processes as well as control of Non Personal Accounts and Customer related manual payments. You'll be a key member of the payment teams involved in supporting the development of process and delivery of solutions to address business needs


Payments Compliance Manager 

As the subject matter expert for Scheme and Industry compliance and related activities, you'll initially be involved in ensuring that systems and process provided as part of New Bank Program are compliant with Scheme and Industry requirements. You'll maintain awareness of developments in the market place that impact Payments and work closely with Regulatory Risk to interpret and agree policy in respect of Scheme and Industry changes.


Payments Operations Team Leader (Reconciliations) 

You'll be required to develop the Payments process design for Sainsbury’s Bank, taking responsibility for the delivery of solutions which address business needs. You'll work on the design and management of the business solutions, including the resulting payments and card scheme reconciliation processes.

 Following implementation you'll lead an operational team, within the Payments Operations structure, performing payment related reconciliation and investigation activities.


Payments Operations Team Leader (Settlements) 

You'll support the development of Payment process design for Sainsbury’s Bank, supporting the delivery of solutions which address business needs. This will include the design and management of the business solutions, including the resulting card scheme reconciliation and settlement processes.

 Following implementation, you'll have responsibility for leading an operational team, within the Payments Operations structure, performing scheme related reconciliation and settlement process, control of Non Personal Accounts and responsible for customer related manual payments paid externally from Sainsbury’s Bank.

You will work within the Legal Team of Sainsbury's Bank and provide effective and timely legal advice on a broad range of commercial issues to support the entire Sainsbury's Bank business. You will be a confident and self-motivated individual with a minimum of 2 years relevant commercial experience from private practice or an in-house position in a corporate/commercial contracts role. You will have the ability to communicate and influence at all levels and your organisational and analytical skills will be strong. The ability to work well as part of a team is also important. You will be a strong support to the other Legal Team members through assisting with their ongoing projects as well as taking control of your own projects.
