Did you know that dog microchipping is now compulsory in the UK? Our guide covers how it works and why it's a good idea to microchip other pets too.
From April 2016, it is a legal requirement for all UK dogs over eight weeks to be microchipped, but cats, parrots, rabbits and many other small furries can have the procedure too. A lost or stolen pet is more likely to be reunited with its owner if microchipped - so given that one in three pets go missing in their lifetime, it's a worthwhile precaution for any pet.
Our fun guide explains what pet microchipping is, how much it costs, and where you can get it done.
Remember that even with the new microchipping legislation, your dog still needs to wear a collar ID when outside. Our guide to preparing for a new dog outlines all the main things to be aware of, if you’re thinking of welcoming a canine friend into your home.
