Idea 4

Ensuring your pet has a healthy lifestyle

Pets need to be active if they’re to be healthy.

For instance, daily walks are great for keeping your dog in tip-top condition. To get the best from your time together, start training your puppy at home for 10 minutes at a time each day, then take them to training classes at about six months. It’s essential your dog is obedient if it’s going to be off the lead.

Ideally, cats should also be able to go outside to explore their territory. Most cats regulate their food intake and so don’t get fat, but whatever pet you have, resist the temptation to feed them lots of snacks – being overweight can cause heart problems and put a strain on their joints.
