Idea 5

Keeping your pet safe

As well as keeping potentially dangerous substances or objects out of your pet’s reach in the home, don’t forget that there are other things you can do to keep your them safe.

Where possible, fit a dog guard in your car; or if you have a cat, make sure you transport them in a cat carrier. Never leave your pet in a car in hot weather or let your dog off the lead on a public road.

It’s also sensible to keep your pet indoors during firework season – create a snug little space indoors where they can retreat. And don’t make a fuss of your dog if he’s afraid as it will only make him think there’s something to be scared of!

Financial terminology can be confusing. Let our Jargon buster help you make sense of it.
