Got all your paperwork
Passport, tickets, insurance and other documentation? Make sure everything is present and correct when you're off on your travels - and don't forget repeat prescriptions if you need medication while you are away.
No matter where you're going, you'll need to make sure your passport is up to date. Some countries require that your passport is valid 6 months before you travel. If you need to apply for a new passport make sure you do so in plenty of time.
It's also a good idea to write down your passport and travel insurance details including the emergency contact numbers. Take photocopies or scan and email the detail to your email account or leave with a friend or relative. If your passport gets stolen while you're travelling, contact the British Consulate straight away.
