Stay healthy on your travels
If you're planning to travel to exotic destinations visit your GP at least six weeks before departure to see if you need any jabs or medicines. Depending on where you're going, you might need to start taking something, such as anti-malarial medications, before you leave. It's also a good idea to see your dentist and optician before traveling to far-flung locations.
You'll find some useful information on health and travel at the Department of Health - some good tips for longer trips.
Closer to home just remember to take details of your travel insurance and your EHIC card (this replaces form E111) with you - apply here.
