At Sainsbury's Bank, our strategy is to provide Sainsbury's shoppers with a range of exclusive offers including preferential interest rates, discounts on insurance premiums and Nectar points.

How you can take advantage of our offers

To benefit from these exclusive shopper offers, remember to swipe your Nectar card every time you shop instore or at  Then just tell us your Nectar card number when you apply for one of our financial products. 

You'll also need to make sure you've registered your Nectar card and kept your name and address details up to date.  Registering your card is easy and it only takes a few minutes.  Just go to, or call the Nectar Helpline on 0344 811 0811. Lines are open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday; and 9am to 5pm weekends and bank holidays.

What we do when you apply

When you apply for one of our products with a shopper offer and give us your Nectar card details, we may use your Nectar card number, along with your name and address, to check your transactions in Sainsbury's.  This helps us ensure it's Sainsbury's shoppers who benefit from our exclusive offers.

When we do this, our online application form or our contact centre will make it clear to you that we're going to carry out this check.

You can opt out of this process by not giving us your Nectar card number.  However, this means you won’t qualify for the discount or offer.

Benefits of a Nectar card

As well as collecting points in Sainsbury's and ensuring you receive our exclusive shopper offers, your Nectar card can be used to collect points at a wide range of other retailers, including Expedia, BP and eBay.  You can also collect points at hundreds of online retailers when you shop through  And don't forget, you can use the points you collect to pay for your shopping and fuel at Sainsbury's.
