Important information for Sainsbury’s Bank Travel Insurance customers returning from or travelling to Brussels

Sainsbury's Bank wishes to extend its deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those affected by the blasts that have struck Brussels.

We understand that following the events at Zaventem Airport and Metro Station on the 22nd March 2016, many holidaymakers’ plans have been impacted. If your travel plans are affected you should contact your tour operator, travel agent or airline in the first instance.

We can confirm that any Sainsbury’s Bank Travel Insurance customer who has booked a flight to fly to Brussels will be covered by their policy for abandonment if flights have been delayed for more than 12 hours or cancelled with no alternative flight available for 12 hours, if they are unable to recover the costs from their tour operator, travel agent or airline.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) website contains the latest advice on travel to Brussels and customers are encouraged to check this regularly for updates. Sainsbury’s Bank strongly recommends all travellers discuss the latest position and their options with their tour operator, travel agent or airline.
