Important information for Sainsbury’s Bank Travel Insurance customers returning from or travelling to Egypt

Sainsbury's Bank wishes to extend its deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those affected by the Sinai Plane Crash.

Following the crash of a Russian airliner in the Sinai on 31st October, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has as a precautionary measure decided that flights due to leave Sharm el-Sheik for the United kingdom will be delayed until further notice. This has impacted many holidaymakers due to return as well as fly out to this destination. We can confirm that any Sainsbury's Bank Travel Insurance customer who has booked a holiday in Sharm el-Sheik, will be covered under their policy if they decide to cancel their trip as a result of these distressing events, until further notice, if they are unable to recover the costs from their tour operator, travel agent or airline.

Please note that travel insurance cover will no longer be in place for anyone who travels to Sharm el-Sheik against the advice of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). Sainsbury’s Bank strongly recommends all travellers discuss the latest position and their options with their tour operator, travel agent or airline.
