Travelling whilst pregnant
When you’re planning for a new baby, the last thing you want to worry about is whether you have the right travel insurance cover. Finding cover for you and your family doesn’t have to be difficult.
At Sainsbury’s Bank, we like to make things simple, so that you can look forward to your trip, and travel with confidence.
Things you need to consider when travelling whilst pregnant:
- It is important that your midwife or GP confirms that you are safe to travel.
- If you have had any complications with your pregnancy, you need to declare this in the same way you would declare any other pre-existing medical conditions. This will ensure your cover protects you.
- If you are travelling by air or ferry, check your travel providers’ policy. Some airlines and ferry operators may not permit travel towards the later stages of your pregnancy.
- Some policies may not cover costs relating to your pregnancy or childbirth if you are travelling close to your expected date of delivery. For example, if your expected date of delivery is less than 12 weeks after the end of your trip, or 16 weeks for a multiple birth.
