Apple Pay

An easy, secure, contactless way to pay with your Sainsbury's Bank Credit Card

Apple Pay - An easy way to pay with your Sainsbury's Bank Credit Card

A great way to pay

Apple Pay gives you all the benefits of your Sainsbury's Bank Credit Card, on your iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac. It’s an easy way to pay in store, in apps and online. Instead of searching for your card at the checkout, it just takes a glance or a touch using Face ID or Touch ID wherever you see the Apple Pay or contactless symbol.

Safety first

Apple Pay is a secure way to pay, without the contactless limit. Get the same easy experience whether you're buying coffee in Sainsbury's or a coffee machine in Argos. It uses a device-specific number and unique transaction code when making payments – this means your card number is never stored and your information stays safe.

How to set it up

Adding your Sainsbury’s Bank Credit Card to Apple Pay only takes a few minutes. The easiest way to do this is by using the Sainsbury's Bank Credit Card App. Select “Settings”, then just follow the instructions on screen.

If you aren’t already registered for the Sainsbury's Bank Credit Card App, you can add your card using the Apple Wallet app.

Adding your card to Apple Pay is simple. Here’s how to get started:

  • On iPhone, open the Wallet app and tap the “+” sign
  • For Apple Watch, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and select “Wallet & Apple Pay”, then tap “Add Credit or Debit Card”
  • On iPad, go to Settings, open “Wallet & Apple Pay” and select “Add Credit or DebitCard”
  • On MacBook Pro with Touch ID, go to System Preferences, select “Wallet & Apple Pay”, then tap the “+” sign to add card

How to use

Apple Pay keeps you from having to touch physical buttons or exchange cash when you’re out getting what you need.

To pay with Face ID, just double-click the side button on your iPhone, glance at your screen, then hold it near the reader.

You will need to setup your card again on the new device.

I don’t recognise some of the transactions I’ve made via Apple Pay.

Sometimes the name a company uses is different to the name of the shop or service, which can be confusing.

Searching online for this name could tell you who the money went to.

If you still don’t recognise the transactions, then get in touch with our Credit Card team on 08085 40 50 60 (00 44 131 459 8040 if calling from outside the UK).

You can search for your phone via Find My iPhone. If you still can’t find your device, you can put your Apple device in lost mode – this suspends the ability to make payments using Apple Pay.

You can also contact us on 0800 456 1232 (00 44 131 549 8040 if calling from outside the UK) immediately so we can remove and suspend Apple Pay.
