UK Breakdown Cover

There are four levels of Breakdown Cover available for you to choose from. With all levels of breakdown cover we'll:

  • Repair your car at the roadside
    Our cover includes labour for roadside assistance.
  • Give you money back
    If help doesn't reach you within one hour, you can claim £10 for the inconvenience.
  • You can earn a No Call Out Discount
    If you don't use your breakdown cover in the year, you could earn a discount on next year's cover.
  • Let your friends and family know you're safe
    We'll relay phone messages to your friends, family or business associates should you break down.
  • Recover your caravan and trailer
    So it gets to where you're going too. Your insured car must be towing it at the time of breakdown.
  • Can protect you, not just your car
    If you select personal cover we'll provide assistance whether you're in your own car or someone else's. (The car must be privately registered in the UK and travelling in the UK and less than 16 years old)

Combined UK & EU Breakdown Cover

Inlcudes all the features of UK Breakdown Cover as well as the following if you're travelling in Europe:

  • Get you to where you want to be
    With car hire up to the value of £800 if yours cannot be used.
  • Or give you a good night's rest
    If you can't get to where you're heading we'll pay for overnight accommodation.
  • Get you talking to someone back home
    We'll answer your call at our UK call centre, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Up to 7 days protection before you even leave
    If your car breaks down before your departure we'll pay up to £800 towards the cost of a replacement car or rebooking travel tickets.

    UK legal advice is included on your travels.

    Motor Legal Protection

    If you are involved in a motor accident that was not your fault we will pay up to £100,000 for the costs of recovering your uninsured losses, such as legal expenses, court proceedings or car damage excesses, from the driver responsible.

    No Claim Discount Protection

    If you have not claimed on your car insurance for 4 or more years you can choose to protect your no claim discount.

    *Double Nectar points

    • Offer only available to customers who take out a new comprehensive Premier Cover Car Insurance policy.
    • Customers must renew their policy with Premier Cover at first renewal to continue earning double points.
    • If the policy is cancelled, double points will cease from the cancellation date.
    • Only the first car insurance policy registered against each Nectar account will qualify for double points. You may qualify for additional points by taking out other qualifying products.
    • Base points on qualifying spend in Sainsbury's will be earned as normal.  A bonus equal to the total of these points each calendar month (subject to a monthly maximum of 2,500 points) will be credited to the Nectar account by the 10th of the following month, for up to 24 months from the policy cover start date.  Excludes all Bonus point offers and points from Sainsbury's Energy, Telecoms, Digital, Bank, Diets and all other Sainsbury's services.
    • The monthly bonus will only be calculated on, and credited to the Nectar card nominated at the time of application. The nominated card must also be used at the time of each Sainsbury's purchase and points will not be allocated retrospectively.
    • The collection and use of Nectar points in the Nectar loyalty programme is governed by the Nectar Collector Rules set out in the registration pack and available at www.nectar.com
    • Sainsbury's Bank reserves the right to alter, cancel or withdraw the offer without prior notice.
