Annual bonus

We operate a number of discretionary bonus schemes that are role specific. The rules, eligibility criteria and targets are communicated annually. As you progress your career with us, there will be the opportunity for additional rewards, plus for our senior leaders we have a unique long-term incentive scheme.

Colleague discount card

One of the great things about being part of Sainsbury's Bank is that when you have completed six months' service, you will be eligible for a colleague discount card. This entitles you and a nominated second user to a 10% discount on shopping at Sainsbury's stores and through our online shopping channels.

Pension

Pension is an important part of our total reward package and a great way to help you to plan for your future. New government rules mean that Sainsbury's Bank will automatically enroll you into the pension when you meet certain conditions. You don't have to wait to be automatically enrolled; you can join and get the benefit of Sainsbury's Bank contributions at any time.

Car

Depending on the level of your role you may be eligible for a company car or cash car allowance.

Sharesave scheme

Sainsbury's Bank makes an annual offer to colleagues to save between £5 and £250 per pay period for a fixed 3 or 5 year term. You can take the money at the end of the term or use it to buy Sainsbury's shares at a 20% discount on the market price which is set at the start of the term.

Sainsbury’s share purchase plan (SSPP)

The SSPP provides you with the opportunity to purchase shares in J Sainsbury Plc, deducted from pre-tax salary, of up to £115 per pay period. SSPP is very flexible allowing you to stop, change and re-start your deductions at any time.

Childcare vouchers

We offer you a flexible way to meet the cost of childcare, where you are able to exchange a portion of your salary for childcare vouchers. Vouchers are non-taxable and exempt from national insurance contributions and therefore represent a saving for those who receive them as part of their total reward package.

Season ticket loans

Once you have completed 3 months service, we offer a loan to purchase either a 6 month or an annual Travelcard, allowing you to spread the cost across periodic installments. The loan is interest-free, and the deductions are taken from your salary before tax and national insurance, representing a further saving.

Cycle to work scheme

We have a cycle to work benefit in place to give everyone a chance to hire a brand new bike and cycling equipment from Sainsbury's Bank. This is a salary sacrifice scheme, and you can therefore save money on tax and national insurance as well as choosing a greener way to travel to work. We also pass on a 10% saving on the cost of the bike to the colleague.
