A warm welcome

When you join Sainsbury’s Bank you’ll take part in our Welcome Programme where you’ll spend time with some of our board members and senior managers. You’ll get to know our culture, history and links with the Sainsbury’s group and get an insight into how we work to support our customers. You’ll also take part in a series of introductory sessions on Sainsburys Bank’s business areas, setting you up to operate effectively as soon as possible.

On the job coaching

All colleagues agree performance objectives and a personal development plan with their line manager annually and review their progress regularly throughout the year. Regular feedback and on the job coaching is an important part of our culture and career progression is actively encouraged.

There is always somewhere to go and a way to get there

Our Learning and Development team supports our colleagues to develop their skills and knowledge. Developing your management and leadership skills is supported through our development pathways so, whatever your level, there is always somewhere to go, and a way to get there.

We also offer all colleagues a continuous learning curriculum where you can hone your skills in areas that are aligned to the needs of a growing bank. From a Bitesize Learning Lunch on ‘Analysing your stakeholders’, to a half day workshop on ‘Managing change’ – there is always plenty to choose from.

Online learning

“My Sainsbury’s Learning” is our online portal that offers a wide range of learning activities and enables colleagues to manage their own development. It hosts all our mandatory training and also gives you the opportunity to view and select other learning activities appropriate to your role.
