With our multi-pet insurance, the pets you cover can have different policy levels and optional extras. Cut down on tedious paperwork, and spend the time you save playing with your cheeky little friends instead.

Our insurance could help in lots of ways, including covering vet fees if one of your pets has an accident or gets ill. It could even give you support if they’re lost or stolen.

You can insure puppies and kittens from as young as eight weeks. We also want to make sure we give you the best possible value for money. So when you take out a new policy with us we offer:

  • 12 months for the price of 9*
  • Up to 12.5% discount for Nectar cardholders**
  • Multi-pet discount – receive a minimum discount of £24†

A policy that works for you

It's important that your cover meets the needs of both you and your furry friends. That's why when you take out Sainsbury's Bank Pet Insurance you can choose from three policy levels - Standard, Premier, and Premier Plus - as well as optional extras, and stay in full control of your pets' cover.

  • Up to £13,000 of cover for vet fees
  • We can take care of claims and payments to most vets
  • Choose the optional extras you want
  • Pay for the insurance monthly or annually

Claim for long-term conditions with Maximum Benefit

Are you worried about your pet getting a chronic or recurring illness, and needing pricey treatments stretching over several years? And what if they develop a second condition or get injured at the same time?

That’s where the ‘maximum benefit’ feature on our Premier and Premier Plus plans comes in handy. It offers you ongoing cover for illnesses and injuries over an unlimited period of time, up to a maximum amount. And you can claim for more than one condition. Just as long as you keep your policy going, without a break in cover.

You’ll be covered for up to £7,500 on our Premier plan, and £13,000 on our Premier Plus plan.

We’ll even handle vet payments directly

Our aim is to make the insurance process as simple and convenient as possible for you. With our direct claims service, we’ll pay the vet directly if you have to make a claim. Instead of stressing about large vet bills, you can focus all your energy on nursing your pets back to health.

You’ll be able to track your claim online to see how it’s going. There are some cover limits and conditions, so make sure you have a look at the policy documents for full details. There may also be times when we’re not able to pay your vet directly. If this happens, we’ll commit to refunding you within seven days, so you’re not out of pocket for long.

When to buy multi-pet insurance

With us, you can insure dogs and cats that are eight weeks or older, but haven’t reached their ninth birthday yet. Once you've bought your insurance, your cover can continue up to any age, as long as you keep renewing the policy. Just remember that some cover limits and conditions apply.
