We need to see written proof from your last insurer with all the details of your no claims discount (NCD). This could be with their renewal letter, or you may have to ask them to send you a letter to confirm it.
The proof they give you needs to be dated in the last 2 years and printed on the company's letter headed paper, and give details of:
- the number of years you've gone without claiming
- the expiry date of your last insurance policy
- any claims you've made.
If you're not sure what you should send us, give us call on 0345 266 1670* and we'll let you know.
If the document they send shows a smaller NCD than you told us you have, we'll use the number of years they've confirmed to work out if we can give you a discount and how much it would be.
If there's been a gap since your last car insurance ran out, you'll need to send us a short covering letter to explain why.
