Existing Customers – Coming to the end of your deal?

Switch online

Switching your mortgage with Sainsbury’s Bank online is right for you if you already know the type of mortgage you want and are happy to choose your own deal and apply for your mortgage without advice.

If you apply online, Sainsbury’s Bank is not required to assess the suitability of the mortgage you apply for and you will not receive the same protection offered by the Financial Conduct Authority’s rules as customers who apply by telephone. This is known as an execution only sale.

Please note that if you are looking to make any changes other than a rate switch, you will need to contact our team on the telephone number listed below.

Switch by phone

Switching your mortgage with Sainsbury’s Bank over the phone is right for you if you would like to speak to our qualified mortgage advisers who can guide you through the whole process to ensure you understand what’s expected of you and what everything means.

When you apply over the phone you will receive free advice about your rate switch. We will check you can afford to repay the mortgage and help you compare our mortgages and rates to recommend a deal that best suits your needs and circumstances.

Please note that if you are looking to make any changes other than a rate switch, you will need to contact our team on the telephone number listed below.

Existing customers:

If you have an existing Mortgage with us then you do not need to contact us as a result of our recent decision to stop selling new mortgages. There are no changes to the operation of your account and you should continue to make your monthly payments.

Customers in the application process and those due to complete:

If you are in receipt of a formal Mortgage offer from us then your Mortgage will complete as per the conditions contained within the offer. If you have submitted an application and are yet to receive an offer then subject to our standard checks being satisfied and a successful valuation on the property being completed we will issue you with a formal offer (this includes those where fees have not been paid). A Decision in Principle does not constitute a formal application, therefore we will not be able to progress these as we have now withdrawn all products from sale. You do not need to take any action and we will contact you if we need any further information from you. And where you are in receipt of a formal offer from us, in line with the offer terms, this is valid for 6 months.

Brokers:

We are no longer be accepting new Mortgage applications.  If you would like to check the status of an existing customer application then please log into the Intermediary portal for the latest status updates. If your customer is in receipt of a formal Mortgage offer from us then this will complete as per the conditions contained within the offer. If you have submitted an application and your customer is yet to receive an offer then subject to our standard checks being satisfied and a successful valuation on the property being completed a formal offer will be issued. You do not need to take any action and we will contact you if we need any further information from you.
